3 WAYS IN WHICH WE ASSESS

Detailing your experiences with regard to your learning process

Including 1 case that incorporate the majority of your learning

Simple MCQ's at the end of each unit

MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS (MCQS)

At the end of each face-to-face lecture, you will be asked to complete a short series of MCQs based on the content you have just received. These will be collected on the same day and recorded as part of your assessment.

REFLECTIVE LOG

The reflective log has been created as a learning tool for each delegate. It will provide a valuable tool for assessing your progression and development while completing the Diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry.

Please use this as an opportunity to consider any difficulties you may have encountered, highlight your achievements, and finally, run through how the knowledge gained from each unit will impact your clinical practice.

After completing the face-to-face lecture, each delegate will have their unique link. You will be asked to complete an online form requesting questions about your progress and development.

This needs to be completed within a month of attending the face-to-face lecture.

EACH PATIENT CASE SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Patient details (ensure that patient anonymity is maintained. The use of the patient’s initials is acceptable)
Medical history
Dental history
Social history
Extra-oral examination
Intra-oral examination
Dental charts, including teeth and periodontal tissues
Occlusal assessment
Clinical photographs
Diagnostic radiographs
Diagnosis (including how this was communicated with the patient)
Prognosis (including how this was shared with the patient)
Dental Implant assessment, if relevant
Treatment planning options, including all relevant advantages and disadvantages (including how this was shared with the patient)
The preferred treatment option is chosen by the patient with reasoning
Discussion of the case, including progression of treatment. This can be written and presented as a series of clinical photographs.
A discussion of whether the initial aims of the patient were met and any challenging issues that arose during the treatment and how these overcome

The information can be provided in short-hand or a list format. Please ensure descriptive details are given where needed, and all information provided is presented clearly and concisely.

The case discussion should include all the advantages and disadvantages of the treatment options provided and the reason for the chosen treatment option.
